What’s your name and what’s your job title?
My name is Jessica Carvajal, and I hold the position of an account manager at the moment. However, it’s interesting to note that my job title is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to capturing the diverse range of responsibilities that constitute my day-to-day work.
Where in the world do you work?
I am based in London. Working some days from home and others from our office.
How long have you worked at SAPI?
I’ve been at SAPI for a little over a year now.
What is a typical day for you in your role? Can you walk us through your daily routine?
No two days are alike in my role, which adds an exciting layer of unpredictability to my routine. The variety in tasks ranges from testing new features in development to meticulously reviewing loan applications. Additionally, collaborating closely with our product and tech teams to align business needs is a crucial aspect. Let’s not forget the essential work on enhancing our brand awareness. The sheer diversity keeps me on my toes, making each day a unique adventure.
How do you collaborate with other teams or departments within SAPI?
Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, and fortunately, our team dynamics make it a seamless process. Interacting with various teams is a daily occurrence, as almost every project necessitates the valuable input from colleagues in different departments. Leveraging tools like Slack has proven instrumental in maintaining organised communication and ensuring that relevant team members are always up-to-date on the progress of our projects. Given the global nature of our hybrid company, tracking the status of various elements across different time zones is surprisingly streamlined.
What advice would you give a colleague who has just joined your team?
For any new colleague entering our dynamic team, my primary piece of advice would be to embrace change wholeheartedly. Our commitment to constant improvement means that the status quo is subject to modification at any given moment. Flexibility and adaptability are key virtues in navigating the ever-evolving landscape of our work. By staying open to change and viewing it as an opportunity for growth, one can truly thrive in our environment, contributing positively to our collective success.
